English summary of the Italian press report (Blitzquotidiano, 15 July 2010) on the appeal court's reasons: Calvi was killed and did not take his own life; there were too many conceivable alternative motives and too many people and bodies with an interest in his removal, from the mafia, the camorra, P2, the IOR and Italian politicians, and, the court said, possibly British and Italian secret services; informants reported only what they had heard from others; substantial indications weighed on Carboni, but the many alternative motives did not point to one on him. Carboni: "a judicial error", and he is "more than ever convinced that Roberto Calvi killed himself".

He noted that the jury had ruled that that the defendants hadn't committed "the deed."
